J.T. Hunter is a best selling True Crime author. His works have been recognized by fellow authors and fans alike as gripping, informative, and chilling.
As a true crime author, J.T. strives to craft compelling narratives that educate and inform, while treating victims and their families with empathy and respect. J.T. has been interviewed for true crime documentaries broadcast in the United States, Canada, and Europe, and he has appeared on numerous true crime radio shows and podcasts. In his role as a college professor, J.T.’s teaching interests include creative writing and criminal psychology. He practiced law as a licensed attorney for nearly 15 years, including criminal law and appeals, and he has significant training in criminal investigation techniques.

“This book was such a fascinating read. Before reading, I would not consider myself as a fan of the true crime genre, however this book interested me enough to want to read more stories by this author. JT Hunter expertly tells the story of the Rogers’ family murders by providing every detail of the murder, investigation, and background of the killer. As someone who was not even born when the events took place, I felt like I could have actually been there with all the details Hunter provides. This story supports the conclusion that monstrous beings, such as Oba Chandler Jr., become a monster due to his environment and experiences. When Chandler was just ten years old, his father took his own life, and although his father was abusive towards him, his “death hit him hard” (pg 149). He became a “‘broken man’” (pg 225) with a dark soul, a monstrous creation that took the lives of four known innocent women, among other crimes such as kidnapping, robbery, and rape. Ultimately punished for his actions, Chandler is no longer able to commit such violent and cruel acts.
